Leonarda Srdelić is an economist and a lecturer at Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM). She works on the macroeconomics of climate change, public finance and production networks. She has written on climate risks, the EU Emissions Trading System and environmental taxation, and developed the platforms cro-stat.com and cro-climate.com.

Leonarda Srdelić is an economist and a lecturer at Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM). She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena. Her research covers the macroeconomics of climate change, public finance and production networks, with a focus on climate risks, the EU Emissions Trading System, environmental taxation and fiscal sustainability. Her work has been published in the Cambridge Journal of Economics and Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, and she contributed to the NGFS handbook on climate macroeconomic modelling. She previously worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Public Finance and at the Croatian National Bank. She developed the platforms cro-stat.com and cro-climate.com, which make official statistical and climate data on Croatia available in one place. She regularly comments in the media on energy subsidies, carbon taxation and climate risks to the economy.

She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena and completed her undergraduate and master’s studies in economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. Her research covers the macroeconomics of climate change, public finance and production networks. She works in particular on physical and transition climate risks, climate stress testing, the EU Emissions Trading System, energy price subsidies, environmental taxation and the fiscal challenges of population ageing. She combines empirical analysis of Croatian and European data with models that link climate risks and economic policy to fiscal and macroeconomic outcomes. Her work has been published in the Cambridge Journal of Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics and Economic Thought and Practice, and she contributed to the handbook on climate macroeconomic modelling of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). She reviews for several international journals, including Structural Change and Economic Dynamics. Before joining ZŠEM, she worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Public Finance. Earlier, at the Croatian National Bank, she worked on macroeconomic analysis and climate risk modelling, and she also worked as a climate risk modelling adviser in the private sector. She took part in the OECD LIFT project (Leveraging Inter-Firm Transactions), which used firm-to-firm transaction data to monitor supply chain shocks. Her professional training includes International Monetary Fund courses, among them Climate in Macroeconomic Frameworks in Washington, and she holds the GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certificate. She developed the platforms cro-stat.com and cro-climate.com, which make official statistical and climate data on Croatia available in one place and keep them automatically updated. She regularly comments in the media on energy subsidies, carbon taxation, climate risks and public finance.
